10 years of Footbag

This year marks my 10th anniversary of playing freestyle footbag. I was first exposed to footbag through my older cousin Andrew, an old school freestyler that had played throughout the late 90s and early 2000s primarily in our local Edmonton hack circle scene. He had all his basic stalls and kicks down and could link around the worlds, clippers, mirages, legovers, and osis with ease. Footbag is a great sport! I think we all agree with that. It’s creative, dynamic, athletic, sweaty communicative, it can trigger a wide range of emotions and feelings and so on and so on. As a student of sport science I had to think about a topic for my thesis 3 years ago

Vasek’s Epic Run

Worlds 2008, Prague. Vasek had won every World Championship since 2002. Then on his home turf he lost to Damian Gielnicki. The judge’s controversial decision was only comparable to 2002 when Vasek won his first World Championship title.
